Every memorable dinner has one thing in common. At some point during the evening, someone looks up and says, "This place is beautiful."
Every memorable dinner has one thing in common. At some point during the evening, someone looks up and says, "This place is beautiful."
That's what makes us happy because that is precisely how Nazcaa is supposed to begin.
Inspired by the mysteries surrounding Peru's Nazca Lines, the interiors of Nazcaa have been created in such a way that we recreate the sense of mystery that has always been associated with those fascinating desert sketches. It's not very obvious – it comes out through reflections, earthy finishes, symbols and through the flow of the space.
In conjunction with our Beyond Nikkei menu, they create an experience where design plays a significant part in telling the story.
A Story Written Across the Desert
For decades, the Nazca Lines have been a source of wonder to historians, adventurers, and travellers alike. Spanning Peru’s desert landscape, these massive geoglyphs can only be truly appreciated when viewed from above.
The fascination with discovery formed the basis of Nazcaa Dubai.
Rather than copying the site in its entirety, we transformed its spirit into modern hospitality. This leads to an interior where hints of its inspiration are revealed gradually through the course of dining at the restaurant.
Similarly to how one could admire the Nazca Lines more by taking a closer look, our interior design unfolds in layers throughout the experience of eating.
The Ceiling That Changes Your Perspective
One of the defining features of our Nazcaa restaurant interiors is the mirrored ceiling that stretches across the restaurant.
Inspiration for this idea has been derived from the viewpoint created by the Nazca Lines. As geoglyphs can only be viewed in their entirety from above, this reflective ceiling would create a similar effect within the interior environment by reflecting the floor patterns underneath it, and showing its true form from another perspective.
The glass crystal doves which are suspended within this reflective surface seem to be floating overhead. This not only adds an element of movement but also refers back to the birds found within the original Nazca geoglyphs.
As light changes during the day and into the evening hours of service time, these reflections constantly change.
Earth-Inspired Materials with Contemporary Elegance
These materials selected for the entire restaurant all relate to the landscapes from which the restaurant takes its story.
A palette of sandy beige, rich cocoa, and spicy mustard colors evokes the Peruvian desert lands and creates an inviting yet sophisticated mood at every turn. The colors of the materials are used to tone down the lavish materials and allow the entire environment to feel warm without compromising on elegance.
Further, there is the choice of flooring. Floors are covered in rich Nero Saint Laurent and Armani Bronze marble tiles. The combination of layers and dark colors in these floors evokes the oxidized stones found in Peru’s Pampa Colorada, creating one more reference to the lands of creation of the Nazca Lines.
Each material helps to create an inviting yet elegant atmosphere.
Symbols That Continue the Narrative
Nazca lines have provided us with much more than mere architectural ideas.
Throughout the restaurant, stylized depictions of local flora, fauna, and geometric shapes are used in paintings, textiles, decorative elements, and carefully chosen dishes. This approach honors the Peruvian culture by successfully merging its rich tradition with the simplicity and elegance of Japanese aesthetics.
Nothing is just decorative; everything contributes to the overall story that makes it possible for culture to become part of the dining experience.
In this way, our approach mirrors the philosophy underlying our brand concept, "Beyond Nikkei."
Spaces Designed for Every Mood
Excellent hospitality starts with knowing how people socialize.
The architecture of our Nikkei restaurant is designed in such a way that there will be different experiences at one location. The cozy corners offer a private place for personal chats, while the exciting dining area automatically attracts attention toward the impressive bar made of mahogany.
Over time, the mood of the day changes smoothly. The friendly conversations during lunch slowly transform into energetic dinners with cocktail bars, music, and celebration.
Each zone has its own dynamics, but the whole restaurant is somehow united through the materiality, light, and storytelling.
Where Design Meets the Dubai Skyline
Some of our most enduring memories take place outside of our interior walls.
Outside, our terrace repeats the design story with sandy-hued wood, subtle landscaping, and desert-like vegetation that enhances the architecture rather than competing with it.
In the backdrop is the Burj Khalifa rising from the landscape of Dubai, which becomes part of the experience. During sunset, the city moves through hues of warm gold before morphing into an evening cityscape full of sparkle. It’s a place where conversation flows naturally and each dish comes paired with an unforgettable view.
This outdoor space also reflects the changing character of Nazcaa. Relaxing days gradually give way to the lively nights that are filled with music and celebration.
Beyond Beautiful Interiors
Design creates an impression long before the food even touches your plate.
At Nazcaa, everything that is visible helps to deliver the full experience alongside our Beyond Nikkei menu. The precision of Japan merges with the colors of Peru, as shown by perfectly prepared ceviches, perfectly made sushi, Robata dishes, cocktails and carefully chosen hospitality.
Everything around enhances the experience without calling the focus on itself. Our aim is to create an opportunity for guests to take time to look, feel and be together – for any celebration, any dinner or discovery of Nikkei cuisine.
This is what distinguishes us.
A Journey That Continues with Every Visit
Some tales have left an indelible mark on our memories for the way they are narrated via language. Then there are those tales that have made a lasting impression due to their multisensory experience.
This is where the design philosophy of the Nazcaa design lies. Designed by taking inspiration from one of the world's biggest archaeological puzzles, sculpted using modern craftsmanship and brought alive by the magnificent skyline of Dubai, each visit becomes a discovery.
From the reflections above to the textures beneath your feet, every detail invites you to experience the spirit of the Nazca Lines in a way that feels beautifully alive today.
